There are different types of data entry. Different types depends on the job provider. Job provider can provide the hard copied material to a data entry person. Data entry person would than convert it into electronic format, write it on compact disc and mail it back to the provider. Job provider can provide the scanned copy or pictures of the material to data entry person. Data entry person would do the same job as mentioned above. Also it depends on the job provider how he wants the data, by E-Mail or by shipping. If he wants it to receive it through shipping than there are more costs involved in it. Since it is 21st century everybody prefers E-Mail or internet to be used to do the job. Also internet is economical. But very important and highly confidential data to be done in electronic format should be taken care very much. There is a risk of leaking a data to the non-concerned party if the job is done outside the premises. High risk data entry should only be done in the certain premises and there should be a contract with the person who is performing the task. Only the data entry job that is not risky should be done through telecommuting and out of premises.
