I have the following question of the following format in my survey:
Which of the following factors do you think are most important. Check any two.
-> A
-> B
-> C
-> D
-> E
-> F
-> G
Thus the respondent can choose any two out of 7 options.
How do I analyze the question in SPSS so that I can tabulate the frequencies of both the individual responses and the combinations. Also please tell me the method which would be leats tiresome in Data entry.
I just gave the format of question . The actual question has choices instead of A, B , C ,D… eg.
Which of the following are the most important factors. Mark any two.
A Religious Issues
B Economic Issues
C Social Issues
D Security Issues
E Management Issues
F Communication Issues
G Transport Issues
A and D

Have you shown all of the question? It looks like there should be a chart or outline to refer to also. If those are listed with A being the highest percentage and so on, then A and B would be most important.
Edit – I know a person is supposed to pay close attention to the order of the answers. If you start off with combinations that were pretty popular, they will be at the top of your table, making it easier to interpret the results. But I can’t tell for sure with no numbers or data.
Edit – I would say go with the other person who just answered. Seems to understand your question. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
