I would like to find out if there is indeed any such home based jobs on the computer such as data entry, surveys that are for real also and do not keep me on the computer for hours just filling out one survey and then not receiving any prize and/or money. Also, if there is a legitimate typing home based business, which is for real and are any of these at no cost to start working? It’s been my experience that most home base jobs are adjuncts from another job. The person is allowed to work from their home just like they do at the office. Generally, these are jobs that work for someone else.
Be careful about jumping into a "Home Based" business. These seem to be a focus of the Scam Artists. I see these being advertised all the time. They want your money and leave you with little in return.

There are legitimate services out there that will pay you for completing surveys but with the amount of scams out there I wouldn’t risk my credit card info. The payout is minuscule anyway, its mere pennies per survey. You could however start your own online business and make money with little or no investment.
